We're an independent, student-led organisation that represents your needs, protects your rights and, when it comes to making important decisions that affect you, makes sure your voice is heard. And you're automatically a member when you join the University of Nottingham.
We might not be able to give you the Welcome you're expecting this year, but despite social distancing measures and other extra precautions, we're excited to show you everything your SU has to offer. From activities, events, sports, societies and volunteering opportunities to making changes to our democracy and finding support when you need a helping hand, Welcome is your introduction to who we are and what we do.
Your SU Officers are a friendly bunch of students just like you who are elected to represent you and stand up for student rights. That means making the changes you want to see and making sure you have the best time here at Nottingham.
There are loads of ways to get involved with your SU. With a huge collection of departments student groups and services, it's what you make it.
And Welcome is your introduction to it all. From finding out about what's going on when to knowing who to contact when you need support, we've got you covered.
Plus, it's your chance to discover and get involved in everything your SU offers, whether you're here for the first time or back for more as an undergrad or postgrad.
We know everything is still strange and uncertain right now, and the situation is changing all the time, but your SU is still working to support you and finding ways to give you the best possible introduction to your SU.
With social distancing and other extra precautions - including wearing masks - our fair, events and activities will be different this year, but no less spectacular, and we're doing everything we can to make sure your first taste of life at Nottingham is welcoming, reassuring and, above all, safe.
