Wherever you are and whatever you're doing,
Refreshers is your reintroduction to your Students' Union.

It's your chance to say "hello again!" and get a taste of everything your SU offers while easing back into University life after the holidays.

Whilst the current lockdown situation means we can’t be together in person, your SU is still working to support you and finding ways to help you connect. Refreshers activities will be online throughout the next couple of weeks giving you the chance to find a new favourite hobby, volunteer your time or join in some of the fun and games our event programme presents.

Get involved with your SU

There are loads of ways to get involved with your SU, with a collection of departments, student groups and services, and Refreshers is a great time to get involved. From activities, events, sports, societies and volunteering opportunities to making changes to our democracy and finding support when you need a helping hand, it’s a chance to find out who we are and what we do.

What's on

Whether you’re a fresh face or already involved in the SU, there is something for everyone, from Welfare Café’s to online games nights (why not order a pizza in?) and meet the team showcases.

Continuing our partnership with Native we’re bringing you lots of exciting online Refresher events. From Dick and Dom’s houseparty, to live music showcases and a Gavin and Stacey quiz with Pete from the show – there's something for everyone so grab your popcorn, gather your housemates or family and get involved. And best of all it’s completely free!

Try something new

Try-Its - Your SU is home to more than 200 societies and over 70 sports clubs, and many of them are holding taster sessions, known as Try-Its, during Refreshers and beyond!

They're your chance to get a taste of our sports and societies and try something new. Whatever you’re into, have a go. After all, you might just find your new favourite hobby!

Don’t miss out! Get all the event details here and plan your Refreshers schedule.

How can we help?

We know that things continue to be challenging with the restrictions of our current situation and we are here to help. Students’ Union Advice is available if you’re in need of support whatever your circumstances. It’s all free and confidential.

Your Officer team are also working hard to raise key concerns and get some action, this work includes:

- Pushing for an academic safety net

- Supporting students right to go on rent strike

Find out more about these activities here and get in touch with your Officers if you have concerns in regards to your student experience.
