Employment Rights

If you are a student and working part-time or during the holidays, you will be protected by a number of workplace rights. These include the right to a national minimum wage, health and safety protection and protection from unlawful discrimination.

The TUC workSMART page has plenty of useful information about the employment rights of students

Likewise, the University’s Careers and Employability Service has information on your rights at work.

If you have any questions regarding your rights in the workplace, please contact Students' Union Advice.
