About Ultimate Frisbee (SB)
About us:
Shambulls Ultimate Frisbee was established in 2010 at the UoN Sutton Bonington Campus. We are a mixed society who welcome all abilities - whether you have played before or never picked up a disc! We consist of undergrads, post-grads, alumni and staff!
Training and games:
We train three times a week, indoors and outdoors, to build your ability and confidence with a disc in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Throughout the year we participate in mixed and single sex tournaments including beginners’ tournaments within the first few months. Additionally, we host our very own tournament in Spring, welcoming around 16-20 teams to compete for the title. Alongside tournaments, we also organise friendly matches and joint training sessions with local teams. Last year we started an East Midlands league, to increase the number of competitive games the team plays - we hope to continue that this year!
Training Times:
Wednesday: 1-3pm in the sports hall at Sutton Bonington Sports Centre (all abilities)
Friday: 5-6.30pm in the sports hall at Sutton Bonington Sports Centre (advanced)
Sunday: 3-5pm on the astro turf at Sutton Bonington Sports Centre (all abilities)
Socials
Socials are held throughout the year and are always amazing events ranging from themed parties to Laser Tag with a healthy mix of sober and drinking events. On top of that, we also go on tour once a year - a weekend not to be missed! Previous locations have been Cardiff, Liverpool, Birmingham and Manchester. Wherever we end up next time, there is a lot of mayhem still to be had! These events greatly help us bond as a team.
At societies ball 2019, we were proudly awarded BEST SOCIETY!

Committee
All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students’ Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
