About Song Writing Society
We are a music society for all musicians and singers regardless of experience. Normally, we meet up once a week for a jam session, on Tuesdays at 7pm in the Music Department (opposite Lakeside Arts) and on Sundays we hire out music rooms for you to use individually or in groups to provide a space for practise. However, this semester is going to be a little different. Due to the restrictions of COVID-19 the music block is not open. Instead, we will be running online feedback sessions and workshops on a biweekly rotation. The schedule for this can be found in our files section. Next semester we hope to once again meet in persona and attend regular Open Mics in the city as these are great for those that want to publicise their music or simply practice preforming. To receive updates, please join our facebook group and get in touch if you would like to try a session before joining!
Committee
All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students’ Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
