About Shelter Medicine
Welcome to the Shelter Medicine Society
This society was set up in 2017 to give the opportunity to students to get involved in the world of shelter and charity veterinary medicine.
We run monthly neuter clinics, various talks and trips to shelters throughout the year and other fundraising events such as sb art attack. Neuter clinics at the RSPCA give all years the opportunity to get involved in neutering and learning about anaesthetics. The talks involve vets working in charities who help to give insight into this line of work or just general good to know information for example vaccinations and clinical exams. Trips in the past have involved bluecross and greyhound rescues, this year we hope to go to many more new places!
Feel free to message the society if you want to get involved, check out our social media for more information on what the society does and the charities we have helped. Join us and get involved in learning about shelter medicine and fundraising for many amazing charities.President: Amy-Kate WilliamsVice- President: Kate CampbellSecretary: Maddy HolemansTreasurer: Alison AndersonSocial Media Officer: Jordanne CameFundraising Manager: Rachel GodsonWelfare Officer: Tatum Stander
All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students’ Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
