About Japanese Society
University of Nottingham Japanese Society
Let us start by extending a warm welcome to the Japan Society. You may have met a fair few of the committee members down at the freshers fair; if not, I'm sure you'll get to know us pretty well soon, and we look forward to getting to know you during this academic year.
In the Japan Society, we aim to promote Japan's unique and incredibly diverse culture within the University of Nottingham and its surrounding areas where Japanese culture is quite a rarity. We mainly cater toward students, holding events to ensure that there is something for everyone. A taste of what's to come throughout the year includes Japanese dining, Japanese cookery, Ikebana (flower arrangement) workshops, and many more!
We aim to host 2 events every month throughout the academic year. Due to COVID-19, most of our events will be virtual for at least the first few weeks, but this still means you can meet many new people and experience our societies friendly culture through your phone or laptop.
We are planning to start in person events once we are able to. Please like our facebook page and join our group (found through the page) for updates!
We look forward to meeting you soon!
Committee
All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students’ Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
