Floorball is a fun, fast-paced sport, played on an indoor rink with lightweight sticks and a plastic ball. It’s like a cross between ice- and field hockey. It's 6-a-side, and the fastest growing team sport in the world!
Easy to pick up, floorball is good for everything from keeping fit to fierce competition, and easily affordable on a student budget (all equipment provided by us)!
We’re one of the few mixed sports at Nottingham. We stumbled across this fantastic sport in our early years at the University of Nottingham, and haven’t looked back since. Some of us come from great floorballing nations, while others are just looking for the next big thing in world sport. We have a wide mix of abilities, from complete novices looking to exercise, to ex-hockey players, to GB squad members. This variety makes for a great atmosphere, and we pride ourselves on being one of the most friendly and open clubs in Nottingham, with regular socials.
For a mere £15, you’ll find yourself with the following:
- Weekly training, Wednesday 7-9pm at Jubilee Sports Centre and Friday 5-7pm at DRSV and 3-5pm on a Sunday at Jubilee again.
- Free use of all our equipment, including sticks.
- Regular socials; club nights, bowling, christmas dinner plus much much more!
- Play other universities and professional teams across the UK in friendlies as well as being able to enter our University league.
We play tournaments/leagues and friendlies against other universities and local teams.
UKFF University league – for regular players, wanting to experience competitive floorball against other universities in the uk.
3v3 tournaments – with more space and plenty of goals, these one-off tournaments are a great way to hone your shooting and skills without the pressure of league points, against teams from across the UK
Friendlies – aimed at beginners, these provide an opportunity to try competitive floorball at a suitable level.
Taster sessions with sign up forms for this year will be announced over social media. We can also welcome new members throughout the year. Wear something you're ready to run in and indoor shoes, all other gear will be provided.
All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students’ Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
