About UoN First Responders
Who we are
UoN First Responders are a group of trained students volunteers who act as an additional resource to East Midlands Ambulance Service. Using 2 response cars and specialist equipment, we provide emergency care to patients suffering a variety of serious and life-threatening illnesses and injuries. We can be tasked to 999 calls anywhere around Nottinghamshire. We aim to give our volunteers a chance to have a real impact on the lives of people within our community.
We have provided over 17,000 hours of service and attended over 6000 incidents since our creation in 2014, and at over half of these our responders have arrived before an ambulance enabling them to provide vital emergecy care quicker that it would otherwise have come.
Committee
All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students’ Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
