About Badminton (SB)
Welcome!We are the SB Badminton Club and we are a friendly and social club open to everyone of all abilities and experiences, whether you have never played badminton before and want to try this sport to having played badminton regularly.We have music playing in our sessions and play mini games as well as friendly games so please come along and see what we're about and meet new people in the club!!Our sessions are held in the SB Sports Hall on:Monday; 5-7pm, ENGAGE Session - 5-6pmWednesday (IMS League); TBCFriday; 8:30-10:30pmWe offer members a more competitive game play in our IMS League whereby it is an internal weekly league on Wednesdays playing against your fellow badminton peers. You will receive fixtures to play against and we take in the scores from these fixtures onto a leaderboard. We hold two IMS Leagues throughout the academic year - one in the autumn and one in spring and at the end of each league we hold an awards ceremony to give out prizes!Our annual membership schemes:Standard Membership: £5Includes Monday and Friday sessions in the sports hall and discounts on our socials.Standard PLUS Membership: £7Includes Monday and Friday sessions in the sports hall and discounts on our socials. A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students’ Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
